Tungnath temple ( Uttarakhand )

History: The Tunganath temple built by the pandavas. The legend says that saint vyas advised the pandavas that they were guilty of slaying their own relatives during the war and their sin could be pardoned by Lord Shiva.

Architecture: It was built in the North Indian Style of architecture . The temple has many side deities. The roof of the temple is composed of stone slabs .There is an image of Lord Ganesha on the right side of the temple. Akash Ganga waterfalls is situated close to Tungnath which has a temple dedicated to Nanda Devi .The priest of Tunganath temple is a local Brahmin from Ukhimath village. There are ten thousands of devotee visit this divine place every year Deoria Tal is a pellucid Lake located at Tunganath temple It is believed that Gods, goddess bathe in it.

How to reach: 
By air: The nearest airport is Dehradun which lies at a distance of 116kms from Tunganath.
By train: The nearest Railway Station is Haridwar which line at a distance of 225kms from chopta . Timings: 6am to 7 pm
