Vimalshah, Vastupala - Tejpal between 11th to 16 century.
Temples overview:
Located amidst the lush green Aravalli hills of mount abu in Rajasthan, the Dilwara temple is the most beautiful pilgrimage site for the jains. There are five temples in all, each with its own unique identity. The group is named after a small village Delvara.
The five temples are:
Vimal vasahi, Luna vasahi, Pittalhar, Parshvanatha & Mahavir swami.
They are a pilgrimage place of the Jains and a popular general tourist attraction.
Architecture :
Thistemple is reowned for the opulent use of marble and intricate carvings on every hookand corner. From the outside it looks quite austere but once you enter the inside you will go head over heels with the stunning designs and patterns carved on roofs, walls, archways & pillars.Jains built many temples at other places in Rajasthan, the Dilwara temples are believed to be the most impressive.
How to reach:
By Air: The nearest airport is Udaipur.If you are an international Traveller I suggest reaching Ahemdabad airport which is an international airport. Otherwise you can get connecting flight to Udaipur from Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur.
By Train: The nearest railway station for mount abu is Abu Road Station located at Sirohi.
