Akshardham temple is a hindu temple & spiritual complex nested in New Delhi. The name Akshardham is combination of two words 'Akshar' means ' eternal' and ' Dham ' means ' abode' it actually means the abode of eternal values. This marvelous temple was constructed in the year 2005 at Noida

History: The complex was built only in 5 years with the blessing of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the BAPS and the colossal devotional efforts of 11,000 artisians and thousands volunteers.
Architecture: The temple is built with complete absence of steel. It contains 234 ornate pillars, 9 domes and 20,000 statues & sculptures.The walls of temple are covered with carvings of dancers , deities, flora and fauna. The statue of Swaminarayan stands under the central dome. The statue is surrounded by several Gurus. Each statue is made of Panchdhatu ( Mixture of 5 elements ) . You can also see the Hall of values, the Theater, Musical fountain & Garden of India, Food court. According to Swaminarayan hinduism, the word Alshardham means the abode of Swaminarayan & believed by followers as a temporal home of God on Earth.

Guinness World Record: on 17 December 2007 , Michael Whitty travelled to Ahemdabad to present new world record to Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The record was presented for Akshardham as World's largest comprehensive Hindu temple. It measures 356ft long, 316ft wide and 141ft high covering an area of 86,392sqft.

By air: You can take flight to Delhi. Indira Gandhi International Airport is just 20km away from the city center.
By Train:You can travel by train, for this book your tickets till New Delhi Railway Station ( NDLS ).

First entry: 9.30am
Last entry: 6.30pm
Closed every Monday
Mandir darsan : 9.30am to 8 pm.
